Chevy Colorado 2024: Redesign and Engine

Chevy Colorado 2024: Redesign and Engine. After the last year’s update, it’s obvious that the current generation of this mid-size pickup truck will remain in production for a few more years. The model is still competitive and still makes pretty respectable sales records. Therefore, it’s no wonder that Chevy engineers don’t rush with the redesign. The Chevy Colorado 2024 will continue in the same way, offering familiar design characteristics and features.

This means you may count on a pickup truck that still looks good in many aspects, despite the age. It comes with three capable engine options in the offer, while the max towing capacity is still the highest in the class. We like the ride quality, while the infotainment system is very easy to use.

On the other side, one of the biggest drawbacks is the interior design, which looks outdated. Also, many complain about subpar passenger room compared to rivals. We expect to see Chevy Colorado 2024 sometime in the last quarter of the year.

Chevy Colorado 2024 Engines

Under the hood, the Chevy Colorado 2024 will continue with three well-known engines in the offer. Base models will continue with a 2.5-liter inline-four, which puts out around 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. It’s not particularly fast, nor capable, but it definitely gets the job done. We see it as a perfect choice for fleet vehicles.

On the other side, the 3.6-liter V6 is a completely different story. With 310 horsepower, it has more than enough peppiness to move this truck with ease. It makes the Colorado fast and capable.

There is the diesel version. It relies on a good old 2.8-liter turbodiesel, which is good for 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to the massive torque, it moves this truck with ease, while the max towing capacity of 7.700 pounds is still the class-leading number.

The base engine and the oil burner come standard with a 6-speed transmission, while the V6 uses a 9-speed gearbox.

Chevy Colorado 2024 Redesign

The current generation has been in production for a full decade. It is still a relevant player on the market, especially because of its working capabilities. The last year’s update has also brought a couple of styling changes, so the truck now looks fresher and more appealing. The Chevy Colorado 2024 won’t feature any particular change, though there is always room for smaller updates, such as new color options and accessories.

What we like about this truck is that it comes in several different variants. Besides standard models, which are great for towing and hauling, this truck is also available in variants that offer some serious off-road capabilities. Of course, we are primarily thinking of the ZR2 model, which comes with upgrades like standard 4WD, two-speed transfer case, locking differentials, skid plates, off-road tires etc.

Interior

Many believe that the interior is the weakest point of the current generation. Simply, it looks outdated and less upscale compared to rivals. First of all, materials are pretty much all about hard plastics, which isn’t a typical thing in this segment anymore. Still, you may remain calm, as these materials are made to last. Also, the dashboard aesthetics look ancient by today’s standards. Simply, things have remained unchanged since the initial launch.

The Chevy Colorado 2024 will continue with two familiar cab styles in the offer. Base models come in Extended Cab, which accommodates up to four passengers. The optional Double Cab model offers seating capacity for five people, even in that case, the second row isn’t particularly generous with space. Most rivals are better in this aspect, especially if we look at models like Jeep Gladiator and Honda Ridgeline Features We don’t expect that too many things could change for the next year. The list of standard equipment should remain pretty much the same. The current model comes standard with goodies like a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, and a six-speaker audio system. In higher trim levels, you can get goodies like automatic climate control, remote start, wireless device charging, an 8-inch touch screen, a seven-speaker Bose audio system, HD Radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, additional USB ports, and navigation.

When it comes to safety features, the only thing you get in the base model is a rearview camera. Additionally, you can get things like cruise control, rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning.

Chevy Colorado 2024 Release Date and Price

Considering that there are no bigger changes to come, we presume that the Chevy Colorado 2024 will hit the market sometime late in the year. The price should also remain pretty much the same as for the current model, which starts at around 26.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator etc.
