Chevy Tahoe SS 2024: Release Date and Changes. The new generation of Chevy’s full-size SUV arrived last year. It came with a full load of novelties and now seems better than ever. As we are talking about a very fresh model, it makes sense to see no changes for the second production year. In terms of the standard model, this will probably happen. Still, that doesn’t mean we won’t see novelties. According to some sources, we are about to see a revival of the iconic “SS” badge. In this case, it would include all kinds of novelties, starting from a new engine and all kinds of mechanical and visual changes.
The rest of the lineup, though, will carry on in the same way. You may count on a bold design, which makes this SUV look pretty muscular and more appealing than ever. For the first time, it features three really spacious rows of seats, while the amount of standard and available equipment seems quite impressive. There are three pretty capable engine options in offer. We expect to see 2024 Chevy Tahoe sometime in the second half of the year.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Engines
Other than the possible addition of the supercharged V8, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will carry on with familiar engine options in the offer. Base models come with a familiar 5.3-liter V8, which puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. If you need more power, there is a 6.2-liter unit, which features a max output of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
If you’re looking for something more efficient, there is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, which is good for 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s not particularly fast but the puling power is pretty impressive, as you can see. It also features the highest mpg ratings. The base 5.3-liter returns around 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway, which is quite decent for the segment.
Chevy Tahoe SS 2024: Rumor or Something More?
The most anticipated novelty for the next year is the Chevy Tahoe SS 2024. The famous badge might come back and this can mean just one thing– an impressive performance. At this point, the only performance-oriented model is the Z71, which comes with loads of off-road upgrades. However, the SS model would rather be completely opposite, a real street racer.
The first thing that comes to mind is the engine. Most reports suggest a supercharged version of the 6.2-liter V8 engine, the same one that can be found in Camaro and Corvette. You may count on a max output of around 650 horsepower. The more powerful engine, we expect to see an upgraded suspension, stiffer chassis, bigger brakes and similar upgrades. Of course, we also count on new visual details, which would accentuate the model’s sporty character.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the rest of the lineup will remain the same. The current generation arrived recently and it has brought a completely new design, characterized by notable improvements in terms of weight reduction and driving experience. The new T1 platform provides significant weight savings and a lower center of gravity, so the new model offers a pretty impressive driving experience.

Visually, you may count on a Silverado-inspired front end, characterized by a massive grille layout. On the inside, things are a little bit different compared to the popular pickup truck. The overall quality is way better than before, while we also find dashboard design pretty appealing. Another big improvement came in terms of passenger space. While the previous generation was quite tight for the segment, the new one makes up everything. Even the cargo area offers some of the best ratings in the class. In numbers, you may count on about 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 72.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and a total of 122.9 cubic feet of the overall cargo space.

We will definitely see a couple of novelties in terms of standard equipment but we are also pretty sure that most of the things are about to remain the same. All models will come standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a six-speaker sound system, satellite radio, HD Radio. Additionally, you can get goodies like navigation, a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens and Wi-Fi capability, wireless device charging, premium audio system, panoramic sunroof etc.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Release Date and Price
We don’t expect to see the 2024 Chevy Tahoe much earlier than usual, despite the possible novelties. The base should also remain pretty much the same, which means around 50.000 dollars for base models. Of course, key competitors are models like Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada etc.
