Lexus RX 350L, 450h(L) 2024: Changes and Release Date. The RX has always been a household name among luxury SUV and it is still one of the best-selling models in the segment, despite that the current generation is older than most competitors. Its age doesn’t mean we can count on the Lexus RX 2024 redesign. The crossover has recently been updated and we presume that the current generation will remain in production for a couple of more years, despite the fact that it is one of rare Toyota models that still waits for a new TNGA architecture.

The next-year model will carry on in the same way, with familiar styling and features. HI-quality interior, powerful engines and smooth ride will remain some of the key pros of this crossover. For the next year, we may see a couple of additions to the list of standard equipment. The engine lineup will definitely remain the same. Expect to see a new model sometime in the last quarter of the next year.

Lexus RX 2024 Engines

The engine offer will definitely remain the same, which means there will be two power options in the offer. The Lexus RX 2024 350 will carry on with a well-known 3.5-liter V6, which is good for about 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Good driving dynamics, this engine is also quite efficient. You can count on about 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which are pretty good ratings for the class.

Lexus RX 2024 Design

In terms of the base design characteristics, one of the most interesting things about the current modes is that it is one of the rare models from Toyota that still rides on the previous-generation K platform and still waits for the new TNGA architecture. You may notice that the current model isn’t the most driveable crossovers in the class. Many rivals feel sportier and handle better. On the other side, the RX offers a pretty smooth and cushioned ride, which ensures plenty of comfort in long journeys.

The Lexus RX 2024 redesign won’t happen, but keep in mind that we saw an update recently. This update included a couple of styling tweaks as well. The current generation definitely looks very good, despite the age. Of course, there is the famous spindle grille, while the overall shape is characterized by lots of sharp edges and pretty sporty appearance.

Interior

The interior is definitely one of the strongest points of this mid-size crossover. The first thing you’ll notice is a classy cabin, full of hi-quality materials and with plenty of style. There are many rivals that look better than the RX from the inside. The dashboard is attractive and well-built, while the excellent final touch can be noticed across the whole cabin. The seats are comfortable, while the second row is spacious. If you need extra seats, you can pick the RX L, which is longer and adds the third row.

The only major complaint about the interior goes to the cargo area. You can count on about 18.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats, while the overall cargo space goes up to 56.5 cubic feet. These are subpar ratings for the class. Rear seats don’t fold flat, which creates an uneven floor.

RX 350L

For a long time, the Japanese manufacturer was hesitating to offer a three-row version of this mid-size crossover. This version finally arrived a couple of years ago. Interestingly, we didn’t see any changes in terms of the wheelbase. You can also count on 109.8 inches between axles, while the rear overhang is notably longer. All in all, the overall length goes up to 196.9 inches, which is just a 4.4 inches more compared to the standard version. The RX 350L may carry more passengers, but also comes with lots of limitations.

First of all, the third row is very tight and can’t accommodate adult passengers, as the legroom in this row goes around 23 inches only. The cargo area is also an issue. The overall cargo space adds two more cubic feet, you can count on less than 8 cubic feet with all seats in use, which is subpar for any segment of crossovers. All in all, the RX is great as a two-row crossover but there are much better options on the market if you’re looking for a comfortable 7-seater.

Features

We may see a couple of additions to the list of standard equipment, but things will generally remain the same. Base models will come with synthetic leather and power-adjustable front seats. Higher trims add genuine leather upholstery. Besides leather seats, you get leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-folding and reclining second-row seats, heated second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel etc.

When it comes to tech features, all models come standard with a new touchscreen, while the infamous Remote Touch is still available. Things like Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, a nine-speaker sound system, satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth are also standard in all models.

Typically for Toyota models, there is a generous list of standard safety features. You can count on things like rearview camera, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, automatic high-beam headlights, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, you can get blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera system etc.

Lexus 450h

The Lexus RX 2024 450h will continue with the same hybrid setup, which combines a V6 engine with multiple electric motors. The total output goes up to 308 horsepower. Driving dynamics are good but the real strength of this model is fuel economy. It returns around 31 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, which are impressive ratings for the class.

Lexus RX 450h L

The three-row version comes with the same hybrid setup, with the same amount of power. Although this model is 240 pounds heavier compared to the two-row model, you won’t notice any differences in terms of acceleration and overall performances. On the other side, fuel economy drops for about 2 mpg in the city, so you may count on about 29/28 mpg urban/extra-urban.

Lexus RX 2024 Release Date and Price

Given that the next year probably won’t bring too many changes, we presume that the Lexus RX 2024 release date will be scheduled for the last quarter of the next year. When it comes to the price, base models will go around 45.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Acura MDX, Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7 etc.
