VW Atlas 2024: Cross Sport and Release Date. The large three-row crossover has been around for some time. Critics are mostly positive, but the German manufacturer wants to improve sales numbers. There is a big chance to see a mid-cycle refresh already in the next year, for the VW Atlas 2024. Those the latest reports we can find about this huge crossover, which competes with models like Chevy Traverse, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot etc.
At this point, we can rely only on rumors. The VW Atlas 2024 changes we are about to talk about in this article are pure speculation, so take the following paragraphs with a big reserve. Anyway, if the company is willing to make this refresh, we presume that the new model would come with a couple of styling updates. We would definitely like to see some novelties inside the cabin, particularly in terms of dashboard design and new materials. On the other side, we don’t expect changes under the hood.
VW Atlas 2024 Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, we don’t expect changes for the next year. The VW Atlas 2024 will carry on with too familiar engine options. There is a smaller 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A bigger 3.6-liter V6 is good for about 276 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are decent in terms of power and dynamics, though a little bit more horses would definitely be great. Most rivals are better in this aspect and provide better driving characteristics.
On the other side, the fuel economy is pretty good. The base four-cylinder engine returns around 22 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, which are above-average ratings for the class. On the other side, the V6 is good for about 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
VW Atlas 2024 Exterior
When it comes to the exterior design, we may see a couple of interesting updates. This would be a mid-cycle refresh, so we may presume the focus would be on the front end. Practically, the VW Atlas 2024 would get the same face as the new two-row version. This means new headlights, modifications on the grille, bumper etc. The new Atlas and the VW Atlas 2024 Cross Sport would feature the same front end. On the other side, the rest of the vehicle would carry on in the same way. The rear end could receive a couple of tweaks as well, but the overall shape would definitely remain the same, except for new wheels, color options, and similar things.
The same thing goes for the mechanics, which are about to remain identical. Pretty large, this crossover rides on the same modular MQB platform, which means we probably won’t see changes under the hood either.
If the VW Atlas 2024 is about to get an update, this is the aspect where we expect to see big changes. The current model may be spacious and practical, but it lacks the opulence of most rivals. The dashboard looks pretty blend, while the materials’ quality is subpar compared to what we used to see in VW models. Therefore, we may presume that the VW Atlas 2024 interior would include at least new materials, if not some tweaks to the dash as well.
On the other side, there is really nothing to complain about things like comfort and functionality. With more than 117 inches in wheelbase, the Atlas is one of the biggest models in the class. So, you can count on plenty of space on the inside, as even the third row offers a generous amount of legroom. The overall cargo volume goes all-away up to 97 cubic feet, which is some of the highest ratings in the class.
The VW Atlas 2024 changes in terms of standard features seem natural. Still, we have to mention that the current model already looks pretty decent in this aspect. All versions come standard with tech goodies like a 6.5-inch touch screen, Mirror Link, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth etc. The list should be expanded, so we could see some of the notable additions. Currently, the list of available features includes things like an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker Fender premium stereo etc.

When it comes to safety, the current-year model has recently received notable updates, so the list of standard features is actually pretty generous. All models come standard with things like post-collision braking system, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and more.
VW Atlas 2024 Release Date and Price
Given the possible updates, the VW Atlas 2024 release date may be scheduled for a little bit earlier date. The base model starts at around 31.000 dollars.
